Inspection work successfully completed at Senefelder Misset

Senefelder Misset is a leading company specializing in printing and graphic services. Safety, particularly fire safety, is of utmost importance at Senefelder Misset due to the nature of its operations and the materials used. Therefore, it is crucial that fire safety systems, such as the extinguishing systems, are always in optimal condition. For this reason, a C-inspection was carried out by Boele Fire Protection on the water reservoir of the sprinkler system at the beginning of 2024. This inspection was essential to ensure that the system remains reliable and effective in the event of an emergency.

Every 10 years, the water reservoir of a sprinkler system must undergo a thorough C-inspection. The C-inspection of the water reservoir at Senefelder Misset had been overdue for some time. This project was initiated a few years ago through BAM, after which Senefelder took over the project independently, with BAM and Boele Fire Protection as subcontractors. First, a large temporary water supply was installed, consisting of two 120m³ tanks with a temporary pump room. To provide additional capacity for this water supply in the event of emergencies, 900m³ of water was also stored in special water bags. These were placed in part of the staff parking lot and were connected to the temporary water supply with two pumps, so that the water could be pumped into the reservoir in case of emergency.

During the C-inspection, all steel components were replaced, including the Z-purlins (roof beams), and a new liner was installed in the tank. The tank was then fully reassembled and refilled. The first two meters were carefully filled using a drinking water line to ensure that the liner stayed in place during the filling process. The rest of the water was added by pumping it back from the temporary water supply through the test return line.

All parties look back positively on the project. "The lines of communication were short, and the project went very smoothly. The collaboration between all involved parties was excellent, and after completion, we had a positive evaluation over a slice of cake," said GertJan Kolthof, Head of Technical Services at Senefelder Misset. Boele Fire Protection also expressed pride in the result.
